CNY Couple Named Honorary Chairpersons at VOICES Fundraising Event
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – October 9, 2013 – The Everson Museum of Art and Hiscock Legal Aid Society have named Jack and Linda Webb as honorary chairpersons for this year’s VOICES fundraiser on October 30, 2013 at the Everson Museum of Art from 5:30-8:00p.m.
VOICES, a fundraising cocktail event entering its third year, gives guests the opportunity to support two organizations that encourage and promote self-expression, whether through art or legal advocacy.
The collaboration between the Everson Museum of Art and the Hiscock Legal Aid Society to support expression within Central New York is a contributory factor of why the Webbs got involved with VOICES.
“We are honored and proud to be asked to help celebrate the missions of two valuable organizations serving our community,” said Linda Webb. “Though art and legal advocacy may seem to have little in common, they both represent meaningful avenues of communication. The missions of these organizations, in the pursuit of justice and creating common ground for all through art, are something we can each take pride in and celebrate as bright spots in our CNY community.”
As natives of Central New York, and residents of the Syracuse area since 1984, the Webbs are strong advocates for helping and celebrating the local community.
Jack is fond of the mission of VOICES, which is to make sure all residents of the community have a voice and can express their opinion. He supports the Hiscock Legal Aid Society as the organization is a resource to help families who cannot afford legal assistance.
“From time to time we all get in a bind of some sort and need some help,” he said.
Both Jack and Linda also support the Everson Museum of Art and the organization’s leading influence in Central New York. Linda has been instrumental in working with the museum during the holidays with the Festival of Trees.
Everson is a high-profile resource that celebrates artists’ expressions with unique exhibits. The displays allow artists to express their creativity and serves has a channel to communicate new thoughts and perspectives on life and the world.
Jack believes Everson’s prominent influence in Central New York culture in collaboration with the Hiscock Legal Aid Society’s inclusive mission, provides the perfect recipe for a successful event.
“When you have two organizations coming together for a good cause, the outcome is more effective in increasing the awareness of the good work both the Everson Museum and Hiscock Legal Aid Society do in our community,” said Jack Webb.
Guests will be able to mingle throughout the evening with hors d’oeuvres served by Phoebes, cocktails from an open bar, and live music from The Roy Bean Trio.
The cost for admission to VOICES is $150 per person. Reservations are required. For more information and to purchase tickets visit, www.everson.org or call (315) 474-6064.
VOICES is sponsored by Duke’s Root Control, Inc., NBT Bank, Bousquet Holstein, PLLC, LeMoyne College, POMCO Group, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, and Statewide Aquastore, Inc.
