Believe in Syracuse
Mission
We believe Syracuse is a city on the rise and our mission is to retain and attract people to Syracuse. We will do this by promoting our message and engaging residents in neighborhood, professional development and volunteering programs.
Vision
We envision a Syracuse with a growing population & more vibrant connected neighborhoods allowing Syracuse to compete in the global economy.
Our Values
We are inclusive, non-partisan, non-religious and resident-centric.
Core beliefs
This section outlines potential core beliefs that can be used to clarify and promote the BIS mission above. In principle, the beliefs below should be represented in all organizational activities, events and other initiatives conducted by BIS.
WHAT/we believe Syracuse is a city on the rise but has a lack of identity. After decades of decline, it is important to improve our own image of our community.
HOW/by continuing a marketing and communications campaign that disseminates our message through social, traditional and paid media.
WHAT/we believe it is critical to retain, attract and support the professional & business development of those who want to live in Syracuse.
HOW/by engaging people in networking, professional workshops and mentorship activities.
WHAT/we believe breaking down inter-neighborhood barriers is important to increasing social and economic engagement.
HOW/by exemplifying cultural distinctiveness, enhancing awareness of events, establishments and activities in each neighborhood.
WHAT/we believe in the importance of encouraging volunteerism and supporting local non-profits with a focus on traditionally under-served populations.
HOW/through grassroots organizing, volunteer recruitment, and focusing our activities on the needs of the community.
