Believe in Syracuse is not yet 6 months old. In that short time frame, we have accomplished so much. Our organization exists to accomplish two goals:
- Spread the word about Syracuse's success in becoming a city on the rise.
- Get Central New Yorkers from every walk of live involved in that success.
From day one, we have been dedicated to getting the word out about good things happening in Syracuse. We launched our Facebook Page and Twitter account on January 31st. Our Facebook page has grown to having over 1,000 Facebook fans. Our Twitter account has over 1,500 followers. We are now reaching over 6,500 people every week on Facebook alone. More important than the numbers, is the engaging content that is allowing users to give their feedback and spreads the word about the greatness of Central New York. Take a look at the facebook and twitter posts to the right and you'll see our message and what resonates with people. What we do is not just about what we do online, but the real life action we take. We started with a huge kickoff party in Downtown Syracuse with over 60 excited people in attendance. We have had networking events at World Lounge and the BC Restaurant both of witch had more than 50 people. We also held an organizational meeting at the Soule Branch Library in DeWitt. There we were able to truly engage our supporters in thinking strategically about our mission and our action, with about 40 people in attendance. There were three breakout groups, each focused on either volunteer work, a neighborhood program or professional development. Just this past Saturday, we had a great group of volunteers show up and help us clean up a park on Tipp Hill. Our efforts will help improve quality of life in that neighborhood. | |
We're incredibly excited about our successes so far but this movement will only go as far as you take it. We're a grassroots campaign. This is not about any one of us and it's certainly not about me. It's about you and the change you'd like to see. Click Here and sign up to volunteer and we'll keep you in the loop about events we host in the future.
Thanks!
John
