Because its spring, more and more organizations are planning events. Before you know it, all those summer festivals will be coming up. Let the fun times roll here in CNY! I thought this would be the perfect time to write this blog post about our Syracuse Community Page. Our community page is entering its second year of existence and more and more it is filling up with awesome events and information.
Before I get into talking about some specific events, let me show you what this community page is and why you should make it your go-to source for information this spring and summer.
The Syracuse Community Page is the one stop shop for events and information from all the great organizations around Syracuse. We promote our own stuff here but 95% of what you'll find here are events and information from other organizations.
On the left side of the community page are some community tweets. They are brought together from great organizations like the Connective Corridor, Visit Syracuse, Syracuse First and the Downtown Committee. On the top right of the community page you'll see our favorite Syracuse events. These are our top picks for what's happening in the coming months. Below that you'll see a cool piece of technology. We have embedded here the calendars of Visit Syracuse (the Visitors and Convention Bureau) and CNY Arts. Beneath that is a link to the Syracuse Guru "This Weekend in Syracuse" Page for some great updates on events. Beneath that are some other links to calendars around Syracuse from Syracuse.com, Syracuse Athletics and the like. Lastly, at the bottom of the community page is a suggestion box for folks like you to suggest events for us to put in our calendar of our "Favorite Syracuse Events". We can't get everything on our calendar but it doesn't hurt to ask us to if you have a suggestion! |
May is going to be a really exciting month with everyone seemingly planning awesome events. Believe in Syracuse is holding events the 2nd and 3rd week in May. There's also the Downtown Living Tour on May 17th. PACNY is having an awards ceremony and the 'Cuse Give Mob is on May 27th in Downtown Syracuse and is benefiting the AIDS Walk/Run.
My hope is that folks from all over our CNY, from every walk of life will use this as a tool to have fun, enjoy Syracuse, connect with others and get involved in our community. It's also my hope to get your feedback on this page.
