The Post-Standard could not be more on point about this. I could not agree more. However, the fact is, there is relatively little traffic in Syracuse, even Downtown. Does Armory Square feel like Times Square to you? Does Erie Blvd feel like some of the superhighways in LA?
The fact that nearly 200,000 people went to Taste of Syracuse is great, and stimulates our economy. Personally, I went on Friday at 3:30 and it was relatively quiet. Parking was not a major issue for me. I parked in Armory Square and walked three or so blocks to Clinton Square.
Downtown and our city as a whole is on the rise. As Central New Yorkers we should be proud.
That's why we're gathering at Black Olive at 6PM this Wednesday 6/11 in Armory Square. To celebrate and show off the progress happening as we speak in Downtown Syracuse. With a great lineup of speakers planned, this will be a great chance to learn more about Downtown Economic Development.
