For years, Onondaga Lake has been the butt of many jokes. Today, it is rising from the dead. But don't take my word for it - join us tomorrow and learn about the vast cleanup effort.
The event is tomorrow, Thursday 6/26 from 6-8PM. From 6:45 - 7:15 there will be a presentation from the folks at the center. For the rest of the time folks can browse the exhibits at the center, network and enjoy some light refreshments. The event is free and open to everyone so there's no excuse not to come. Here's some information we're passing on from the folks at the cleanup visitors center:
The Onondaga Lake cleanup is making terrific progress; Onondaga Lake is a story of growth and renewal. Wildlife is returning to restored wetlands and Honeywell is planning to finish lake dredging at the end of this year, a year ahead of schedule. Capping and habitat enhancements will be completed in 2016.
The hard work of creative, knowledgeable, and dedicated professionals and members of the Central New York academic community has been critical to the success of this project.

TO ACCESS THE VISITORS CENTER: From Points West: Take I-690 East to Exit 7, turn left onto State Fair Boulevard, take the first left passing under I-690, drive straight toward the lake and follow signs to the Onondaga Lake Visitors Center.
