The teachers of the Syracuse City School District have accepted the challenge of receiving the books, supervising the unpacking and sorting by developmental age group and distributing the 40,000 books to needy kids in our city.
What they need is people to help breakdown boxes, unpack books, sort them and get them ready for distribution to kids in need. Can you lend a hand on Thursday? Click here for more info and to RSVP.
When: Thursday 11/20 3PM - 6PM
Where: The Oncenter, 880 S State Street
Kids in our city schools need all the help they can
get. Life for families in our inner city is difficult every day. From dealing with violence and drugs, to domestic violence or not having a father figure, these kids are so often at a disadvantage. Let's give those kids one thing to counteract that disadvantage: a new book. Horace Mann once said that education is the great equalizer.
This event isn't just about books, education or about our schools. It's about the future of Syracuse. These children are the future of our community. Come join us and make a statement to current and potential residents of Syracuse that we care about their kids. Click Here and signup to help and your time will be put to good use.
